Ritesh was born in Odisha, India, and grew up in a small town. He was always passionate about technology and entrepreneurship, and at the age of 17, he dropped out of college to pursue his dream. He started his first venture, Oravel Stays, which was an online platform for budget accommodation.
Despite the success of Oravel Stays, Ritesh realized that there were still many challenges facing the budget hospitality industry. He decided to take a bold step and launch OYO Rooms, a technology-driven hospitality chain. The idea was to provide travelers with quality, affordable accommodation options.
Since its launch in 2013, OYO Rooms has grown exponentially. It now operates in over 800 cities across India and has expanded to more than 80 countries. Its success has been driven by Ritesh’s vision and leadership. He has been able to combine technology with hospitality to create a unique customer experience.
